Process
When you consider on average, it takes up to 7 attempts to reach a decision maker, its vital that organisations take a long-term view when considering telemarketing. It would be very unrealistic to expect to generate sales from just one day of calling.
As well as taking a long-term view, proper preparation will increase the chances of a successful campaign:
Preparation Stage
The key to a successful telemarketing campaign is thorough preparation and I prepare in a number of ways:
- Provide you with a briefing document to complete that will tell me everything I need to know about your business.
- Going through your website and any other promotional or relevant material you are able to provide to understand your business and services.
- Getting to understand your industry and doing some basic research on your competitors.
- Develop a calling plan to ensure that the right message is being put across on the calls I will be making.
- Sourcing data that will be used during the calling activity.
- Creating a calling schedule with you i.e. how many days per week will I be calling
- Spend some time on the telephone to finalise any points from the above.
NB: If you do not have data or marketing material to email out, I can put you in touch with trusted partners who can assist you with. Although there would be an extra charge for this, I do not receive a commission or referral fee from those partners.
Calling Stage
Once I’ve completed all steps of the preparation stage, I will move on to the calling stage.
When calling, I work from 9am till 1pm and 2pm till 5pm, Monday to Friday.
From an average day of calling, I would expect to make a minimum of 100 call attempts per day.
When I carry out my calling, I will do so as if I am a member of your organisation.
After each day of calling I deliver, you will receive a full report detailing the number of calls I’ve made, the outcome of those calls and, of course, comprehensive details of any appointments or leads that I’ve set.
In the case of any leads that I set, you will need to send out the information via email / post or, if you prefer, you can set me up with an email address for your company and I can send these out on your behalf.
All data is collected and stored in an two excel spreadsheets; the first sheet will contain the current bulk calling data and the second, will contain any leads and appointments that I have set.
After each day of calling, I will email the leads and appointments sheet to you and once per week, I will email the bulk data to you.
Campaign completion
Once I have completed the initial calling activity for you, I will send an overview of the activity along, with all the current data that I hold for you including the leads and appointments.
I recommend that at this stage, we have a review session either on the telephone so we can go through the activity and I can gain some feedback from you.
Following on from the review session, we can discuss future calling activity
